1. Identify Hinge Clip Style

The hinge clip is the plastic scissor clip that swivels up and down underneath the keyboard key cap. It is usually either black or white and functions as the part that holds the back of he key to the keyboard.

Manufacturers often use different keyboard vendors during production and each vendor has its own unique type of hinge clip. Compare the chart and identify the version that matches. You will fill this info in Step 2 above.

2. Confirm Keyboard Layout and Language

Below is an actual picture of the keyboard. Please confirm that the layout matches as well as the language.

NOTE:The default color of the keyboard we show is black. If your model comes in different colors and we have it in stock, it will be available in the color section above.

INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Our standard keyboard layout is QWERTY (shown below). If you have a different language layout the key cap and hinge clips are still interchangeable. If the key cap shape does not match or you require a different language layout please contact us before ordering.

prices are generally high, try to reclaim costs from apple, it's a design flaw, google it.

Thanks to this product I was able to totally fix my broken key. The up arrow key on my Macbook Air had broken off because the hinge clip broke — the original silicone cup and key cap were both fine. I initially replaced the key using all of the replacement pieces, but I found that the replacement silicone cup was not very good. The key worked fine, but it did not bounce (when pressed) nearly as smoothly as all my other keys so it felt weird to use. The replacement silicone cup looked very similar to the original one, but it might have not been aligned perfectly — maybe a quality control problem? In any case, after I replaced it with the original silicone cup (still using the new hinge clip) my key works like new again. Thank you!

I had a hole form on the space bar of my 2011 MacBook Air. I came to this site to find a replacement. They had very good instructions on how to figure out which key to order. It's a good thing, too, because my key was a somewhat rare one and I was able to figure that out on this site. The shipping was fast and the product was perfect.

Nothing too much to say, only ordered one key for my friend's MacBook that was missing the arrow key. Hardest part was figuring out the correct hinges. The product had perfectly separated the parts safely from each other to avoid falling or dropping suddenly from the letter when it arrived.
